Goals from John Peter and a first of the season for Dave Marsh earned Electricity a well-deserved victory at Happy Valley, which in turn condemns the hosts to relegation.
Peter's opener midway through the second half put Electricity ahead before Marsh doubled the advantage with ten minutes left on the clock. Ovingdean got a late consolation with two minutes left but it couldnt save them from slipping into Division One.
The only other league match of the day was also at Happy Valley with Portslade Athletic winning 2-0 at Master Tiles, while in the Vernon Wentworth Cup Hanover progressed to the final after beating Electricity's conqueror's Clymping, 2-1 in the semi final. |
